It involves mindful thought and action. Research has shown that activating the whole brain heightens cognitive function. In fact, the area of the brain that is the site of most conscious and intelligent activities in the brain is the cerebrum – the last bit of the brain to develop. The cerebrum is divided into two hemispheres, the left and the right which are quite separate with different functions. The more we are able to access and stimulate both cerebral hemispheres simultaneously, the more we are able to increase the efficiency of the brain which helps with raising intelligence.
